The scene
The Black Knight refuses to let King Arthur cross a bridge. Arthur cuts off his arm; the knight replies “’Tis but a scratch” and keeps fighting, limb after limb, until he’s only a torso offering to call it a draw.
It’s the response to downplaying an obviously serious problem.
